Can vendors build or insert greenhouses in their booths?

Yes. Customizations are allowed with management approval. We’ll work with you to ensure your booth meets a high design standard, and we’re happy to provide design guidance.

Do you provide vendor storage?

At this time, we don’t offer centralized storage. Every square foot of retail space must be used for retail. We recommend creating hidden storage areas within your booth or utilizing an offsite storage
facility.

What will the average building temperature be?

We plan to keep the building between 72–75°F. Because it’s a concrete structure with southeast exposure, airflow may vary. Large fans will help circulate air to keep the environment comfortable.

How do you prevent every booth from selling the same plants?

We curate vendors carefully and only allow the sale of approved merchandise listed in each lease. It’s the responsibility of vendors to keep their booths stocked with fresh, unique items.

Where can vendors pack plants? Will shipping services be available?

Yes. The Greenhouse Social™ will have an on-site shipping department stocked with materials and supplies. We’ll offer different service levels for packaging support and will schedule regular UPS/FedEx pickups.

How do you handle pricing differences between booths?

Pricing is entirely up to each vendor. From experience, the lowest price doesn’t always equal the sale — presentation matters. A clean pot, a decorative stake, or a seasonal bow can all make a difference. We’re exploring a shared database for pricing guidelines but will not micromanage vendor pricing.

Will insecticides be used inside the building?

We’ll follow health department and Department of Agriculture guidelines with professional pest control. Infested plants will be removed from retail areas for treatment in designated sink areas.

Can vendors hang lights from the ceiling?

Our ceilings are 25 feet high, while booths are 8 feet. We encourage booth-level lighting, but ceiling installations are possible with approval. A scissor jack will be available for assistance if needed.

Can vendors place signage outside the building?

No external advertising is allowed unless you’re an event sponsor. Social media promotion is strongly encouraged. Booths will be numbered and aisles named so customers can easily find you.

How will you attract both rare-plant collectors and casual buyers?

“If you build it, they will come.” 🌱 The U.S. houseplant market was valued at $29.4 billion in 2024. With aggressive marketing, strong social media, and an emphasis on customer experience, we’ll draw plant lovers of all kinds. Vendors will also play a role by keeping booths fresh, well-stocked, and engaging.

Will food be served at the wine bar?

Yes, but without a full kitchen. Expect charcuterie, sandwiches, and other prepared foods. For hot options, we’ll host four rotating food trucks on the greenspace.

Will the coffee vendor serve tea?

We’re in talks with multiple coffee vendors and are seeking partners with diverse menus that include tea and complementary beverages.

Will there be books, games, or kid-friendly activities in the lounge?

Yes! We love this idea. Our focus is on creating an experience that makes people want to linger and return. The space will be kid-friendly (though we joke that kids must be “leashed” at all times 😉).

Will there be storewide holiday discounts?

Yes. At least twice a year we’ll host storewide 20% off events. During these, The Greenhouse Social™ will waive its 10% commission so vendors don’t absorb the discount. These events are expected to draw big crowds.

Do you offer referral programs for new vendors?

Not formally. However, referrals that lead to a founding vendor may receive incentives.

Is there a Q&A document?

Yes — you’re reading it!

What will the store hours be?

Our current model is 9 AM–9 PM, seven days a week. With both coffee and wine vendors in-house, extended hours will capture more traffic. Hours may be adjusted after opening based on demand.

Will reverse osmosis (RO) water be available?

No RO system is planned, though tap water will be available in the classroom space. We’re exploring rainwater collection. Vendors with special water needs should bring their own.

Can booths have hanging poles for plants?

Yes. Each booth will start as a clean white box. Vendors may add poles or other customizations with approval.

Can founding vendors choose their booth numbers?

Yes. Founding vendors get first choice, followed by all other vendors.

Will you host “Sip & Shop” events?

Absolutely. These have been very successful at The Gay Ole Plant Shop™ and will be part of The Greenhouse Social™ programming.

Will Wi-Fi be available?

Yes. We’ll install a dedicated fiber line, ensuring reliable bandwidth for POS systems, live streams, security cameras, and customer use.
